Euthanasia

A compassionate and humane choice to alleviate your pet's suffering.

Saying goodbye is always hard, and it can be especially difficult when we are faced with making that decision. At Alouette Animal Hospital, our goal is to support you and your family through this important time. We offer a comfort room so your family can feel more at home and can take the time you need for their final visit.

What is pet euthanasia and how do I know when it’s the right time?

Euthanasia is an act of compassion for your pet’s suffering. If your pet is suffering in pain due to terminal illness, has lost all ability to eat, drink, control bodily functions or the ability to be mobile, then euthanasia may be a reasonable option to consider.

Can I say goodbye to my pet in the comfort of our home?

Unfortunately, we are not able to perform home visits.

How is the euthanasia drug administered?

The euthanasia drug is administered through an intravenous. Your dog may be given a sedative to help to remain calm, and the entire procedure is handled with the utmost respect.

What is the cost of pet euthanasia?

Kindly give us a call and a member of our team will be able to provide you with details.

Does your hospital provide bereavement counselling?

Our hospital does not provide this service, but we can refer you to someone who does bereavement counselling.
